The case
When dealing with the refurbishment of existing structures, it is well known that one of the most common issues that arises concerns space management.
Often the structures to be protected are located in confined and hard-to-reach spaces. This results in challenges for carrying out the work, storing construction materials, and logistics in general; moreover, it can also present difficulties in the refurbishment of the structure itself if the chosen protective materials are too bulky.
In the case at hand, for a prominent clinic located in the province of Frosinone, a building renovation and reinforcement of the load-bearing structures were necessary in compliance with fire safety regulations. The general intervention was particularly complex, especially the work carried out in the corridors of the hospital wards where, after dismantling the suspended ceiling panels, fire safety measures were implemented for the underlying load-bearing steel structures in terms of passive fire protection.

The protective coating was applied using the Amotherm Steel Primer WB and Amotherm Steel WB system, achieving the required R30 – EI30 fire resistance rating.
